Sometimes you may need to steady your rifle for a precision shot and a bipod or other rest is not available.

1) You will need 3 sticks of similar length about 1/2" in diameter. Length will be determined by how high you want the rest to sit.
2) Short length of 550 cord or simlar.

Wrap the 550 cord around the 3 sticks. You want it to be snug but not overly tight.

Next set the sticks up into a tripod.

Place your rifle into the craddle and you have a steady support and all you needed to carry was a piece of 550 cord.
