5. ***********ACTIONS AT DANGER AREAS****************

A. LINEAR DANGER AREAS: WHEN THE LEAD OR POINT LOCATES A LINEAR DANGER AREA SUCH AS A ROAD TRAIL OR CREEK. They will cease movement and contact me. UPON BEING CONTACTED I WILL DIRECT YOU TO HALT .YOU WILL THEN TAKE A KNEE AND EVENLY DIVIDED FIELDS OF FIRE TO OUR IMMEDIATE RIGHT AND IMMEDIATE LEFT.AFTER 30 SECONDS YOU WILL GO TO THE PRONE POSITION (VEGATATION DEPENDANT). AFTER CONFERRING WITH THE POINT OR LEAD WE WILL CROSS THE DANGER AREA IN ONE OF TWO WAYS.

1. THE POINT/LEAD WILL CROSS THE DA AND CLEAR THE FAR SIDE. WHEN THE FAR SIDE HAS BEEN CLEARED THEY WILL SIGNAL TO THE NEXT MAN TO PROCEDE. WHO ASSUMES FAR SIDE SECURITY AS DIRECTED BY THE POINT /LEAD. EACH MEMBER WILL THEN CROSS THE DA ONE AT A TIME USING THE LEAPFROG METHOD.

2. AS EACH MEMBER APPROACHES THE OF THE DA THEY WILL TAKE UP A HIDDEN/PROTECTED SECURITY POSITION FACING TO THE LEFT OF THE DA.THEY WILL THEN CROSS THE DANGER AREA. ONLY WHEN THE MAN BEHIND HIM SQUEEZES HIS SHOULDER TO SIGNAL HIM THAT HE HAS BEEN RELIEVED OF HIS POSITION.HIS RELIEF WILL THEN ASSUME THE SAME WATCH AND FIELDS OF FIRE.

3. THE RELIEVED MAN WILL THEN CROSS THE DANGER AREA. UPON REACHING THE OF THE DANGER AREA HE WILL RELIEVE THE FAR SIDE SECURITY MAN WHOS FIELD OF FIRE IS TO THE RIGHT.

**NOTE THIS NEXT METHOD OF CROSSING THE DANGER ARE IS USED ONLY WHEN TIME IS CRUCIAL OR THERE IS MULTIPLE DANGER AREAS.**

DANGER RUSH

THE POINT/LEAD ELEMENT WILL HALT AND WAIT FOR LEFT AND RIGHT SECURITY TO BE PLACED IN HIDDEN / PROTECTED POSITIONS BEFORE CROSSING.ONCE SECURITY IS IN POSITION ON THE OF THE DANGER AREA . THE POINT/ LEAD ELEMENTMN WILL THEN CROSS AND CLEAR THE FAR SIDE OF THE DANGER AREA. ONCE THE DANGER ARE IS CLEARED THEY WILL THEN GIVE THE ALL CLEAR SIGNAL.WE WILL THE CORSS QUICKLY EITHER ONE BY ONE OR ALL AT THE SAME TIME. THE TRAIL ELEMENT WILL CLEAR OR COVER ANY TRACKS.AND THEN PASS UP A HEADCOUNT.

**WHICHEVER METHOD IS USED A SPEEDY RUSH ACROSS THE DANGER AREA WILL BE ENFORCED**

******SMALL OPEN DANGER AREAS WILL BE BYPASSED WHILE STILL MAINTAING AN OFFSET DIRECTION OF TRAVEL (DOGLEG) OR (SHOOTING A 90) ONCE THE DANGER ARE IS BYPASSED WE WILL THEN RESUME OUR NORMAL COURSE OF TRAVEL.******

****LARGE OPEN DANGER AREAS****

WE WILL FIRST ATTEMPT TO GO AROUND OR BYPASS ANY LARGE OPEN AREA.WHEN IT IS NOT POSSIBLE DUE TO TERRAIN OR NOR FEASIBLE DUE TO TIME HACKS WE WILL CROSS THE AREA IN A __________ FORMATION. (HINT YOU HATED TO GET THEM AS A KID). MAINTIANING EXTRA DISTANCES BETWEEN ELEMENTS. IF NECESSARY WE WILL SEND EACH TEAM SQUAD OR PLT WILL BE SENT ACROSS ONE AT A TIME. D. SMALL ARMS FIRE: IF WE RECEIVE SMALL ARMS FIRE,WE WILL EITHER:

2. NOT RETURN FIRE. BUT MOVE OUT OF THE AREA QUCKLY.
3. ENGAGE, ASSAULT AND ELIMINATE ENEMY RESISTANCE.
4. PULL BACK, REORGANIZE AND WAIT FOR FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS.

E. INDIRECT FIRE: IF WE RECEIVE INDIRECT FIRE WE WILL ATTEMPT TO MOVE OUT OF THE IMMEDIATE IMPACT AREAAS QUICK AS POSSIBLE IN THE DIRECTION OF(give direction or who to follow). IF WE ARE CAUGHT IN THE IMPACT AREA WE WILL TAKE COVER AND OR TAKE UP A PRONE POSITION AND WAIT FOR THE FIRE TO CEASE OR SHIFT. THEN WE WILL BEAT FEET TO THE NEAREST AVAILABLE COVER.
F. AIRCRAFT: THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF AIRCRAFT FIXED WING AND ROTARY WING IF ANY ARE SPOTTED AND WE ARE NOT OBSERVED TAKE COVER AND LAY LOW. DO NOT ENGAGE OR MAKE ANY SUDDEN MOVEMENTS.IF WE MUST ENGAGE REMEMBER THE FOLLOWING AIRCRAFT LEADS
